I was pregnant and buying baby things when Crystal told me about coconut oil. She had used it for her baby and had such glowing reports about its effect on her baby’s skin. So she made some virgin coconut oil for me to try when i put to bed and since then i had been in love with this nourishing gift of nature.
Coconut oil works magic on baby skin as the small molecular structure of the oil allows for easy absorption through the skin and into the cell structure of the connective tissues. This means that it has the ability to actually restore damaged skin. It has anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties, its such a smooth moisturiser and i love the smell.
Coconut oil is a natural healer and not only does it do wonders for baby skin, it has several other uses. When my baby had cradle cap the coconut oil worked like for it with a few applications. A little research gave me further insight into various other uses of coconut oil:
-It works as a great nipple cream nourishing cracked, sore or dry nipples
-A tablespoon melted into a cup of warm tea can help sooth a sore throat
-Coconut oil is the perfect way to treat nappy rash
-It helps sooth the itch of chicken pox or poison ivy
– It helps prevent stretch marks
-It’s a good sunscreen and also cures sun burn
-It relieves skin problems such as psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema.
-I heard for breastfeeding moms, consuming 3 ½ tablespoons of coconut oil daily will enrich milk supply.
-A few drops into the ear cures ear infection
-It cures acne and smoothens the face.
-Coconut oil can prevent nose bleeding if caused by sensitivity to weather such as extreme heat and extreme cold
-The saturated fats contribute to weight loss and controlling cravings, it also increases metabolic rate.
there are many more uses of this great oil and i can’t exhaust it in this post. What did i miss out?
