Since you’ve been gone

I said I will not miss you
I said you don’t matter here or there
I touched the ground and tapped my tongue,
Pointing upwards I had sworn
I will not miss you!

Since you’ve been gone
The hours have slept
They drag on slowly, I know
For I’ve been counting them
Since you’ve been gone
The house has gone to sleep
All is quiet but for your voice on my phone
I’ve called you thrice, I’m calling again
Under my breathe I hum your songs
Under the shower and in the foyer
I chuckle at your jokes
But then, the joke is on me
Who swore not to miss you!
